Gas House Gang (1937)

This is a photograph of the Gas House Gang, group of post-high school Glassboro students who organized a football team that played against teams from other towns. During this time the teams were loosely organized, but they played regularly. The teams eventually became more organized and developed official organizations such as the Glassboro Athletic Club. These teams also often played against out of state community teams.
