Old Church Behind Capitol Cleaners on Academy Street

Built as the Presbyterian Church the structure was first used on (Monday) October 14, 1867. The church had approximately 20 members. The Church's Sabbath School had about 60 members. This church moved locations three times before settling at what became its final location at University Boulevard, in the Chesnut Ridge section of Glassboro. The change of locations was expected to give the church some more popularity, but it upset the current members of the church. The church did experience slight growth after its final move to University Boulevard.

The church existed first on Church Street from 1869-1883. The first location had only 10 charter members and the structure cost $1,700 to purchase. The second location was on Academy Street from 1883-1912. This building was sold to the Episcopal Church in 1912 to be used as their parish house. The current location of this building is behind Capitol Cleaners on Academy Street. The final location of the church was purchased in 1912 and is still located on University Blvd; however, the church closed in 2018.
