This is a photograph of the aftermath of the fire that destroyed the Junior Mechanic Building (also known as the Whitney Building). The building was located on the corner of High Street and Main Stree at the approximate coordinates 39.702939279259795, -75.11209735530396. The photos  specifically show the damage to the Lutz Drugstore. A sign for Tailors Furriers is also seen in one of the photos.

The fire occurred on New Year's Eve in 1944. Resident George Armstrong witnessed the fire and Glassboro's Fire Department attempt to exstiguish the fire. This experience inspired him to later join Glassboro's Volunenteer Fire Department.
