Whitney Ware Sheds and Whitney Building Steps

The single story structure along the road is the Whitney Glassworks ware sheds, which was located at these approximate coordinates 39.702896031282435, -75.11187737836357.

The structure on the left with the steps is the Whitney Building, also known as the Junior Mechanics Building. This steps were located at these approximate coordinates 39.70285883378335, -75.11203027183525, at the current site of the Veteran's Memorial. This building housed many stores, including the Whitney Store, which was located on the High Street side of the building, not visible in this photo. The two women on the steps are likely entering either the Post Office or a bucher shop. Another photo see below Corner of Main Strett and High Street for a photo showing the same women leaving the building a few minutes later. 

In the forground of the photo a horse, with its head angled toward the camera, is attached to a carriage. Horse tie poles are visible in front of the horse and across the street. The photo also shares the condintion of the dirt road, poles for electricity, and also curbs and sidewalks.
