This item is a commercially printed postcard that features a photograph purported to be of Main Street. The original photography was hand marked with the text "Main Street Glassboro NJ"; however, when zoomed into the photograph the road seems to end at an intersection. Main Street was a long continuous road that did not end at an intersection, so the location marked on this photo is not confirmed. We have also visually examined all the existing homes on Main Street and have not been able to identify the homes in this photograph.

We believe the car dates between 1907-1918; however, we have not been able to confirm the exact make or year. The license plate does appear to match the style used in New Jersey in 1913 and 1915.

The photograph shows a dirt road, concrete sidewalks and curbs, and telephone/electric poles, which depict Glassboro's growth during the early part of the 20th century. Also seen in the photograph is a group of young girls standing in the street on the middle right of the image.
