Main Street Facing South

This photo provides a south-facing view of Main Street during a snow storm. The photo shows tie-posts for local shoppers to tie up their horses. In the 1970s, the three-story building to the right housed a bookstore often visited by Glassboro State College students. In the early 1950s, this building housed a General Store, which was owned by Oscar Wolfbrant. The building would have been located near the approximate map coordinates 39.701995, -75.112318. 

Although the building no longer stands, long-time Glassboro residents fondly remember the shop for its disarray, as books were stacked in the windows and along the floor, rather than organized neatly onto shelves.

In the distance, on the right side, is the Methodist Protestant Church. (For more Information)
