P & R Station, Glassboro

Thomas Whitney helped with the creation of the railroad. He needed the train to go from Camden to Millville for the Glassworks. He needed to be able to have the glass delivered to the large cities such as Philadelphia and New York. Before this point, the glass was delivered by wagons to be put onto a barge that would transport the glass to Philadelphia. The railroad was built around 1860.
