This is a photograph of the Odd Fellows Building in 2003 shortly before it was demolished. This large three-story structure was built in 1849 by the Whitneys on the corner of High and Main Street. This building proceeded the Junior Mechanics building.

In the late 1890s (one source says March 1896, but that date doesn't seem correct), the building was moved several hundred feet north on Main Street (approximate location). Shortly after Odd Fellows Hall was moved, the Whitneys built a company story at the location - The Whitney Department Store. This building was destroyed by an extensive fire on October 26th, 1895. This fire was reported in the New York Times.

After the Old Felllows Hall was relocated in the 1890s, the building  was used for various businesses, including (early 2000s) a warehouse for an online bookseller. Odd Fellows Hall was demolished in 2003 to make way for new development.
